Miner's Bucket hanging on abandoned log cabin in the ghost town of Coolidge, Montana.  Coolidge is reached by a five mile dirt road and short hike off the Pioneer Scenic Byway in Southern Montana.  The Elkhorn mine here was once the largest silver mine in Montana.Coolidge, Montana.  Coolidge was founded as a mining and lumber town, eventually supporting Montana's largest silver mine, the Elkhorn Mine.  The town was viable until 1932, when the school district and post office were discontinued after a 1927 dam failure doomed the town.
