Gold dredge tailings in the Crooked River, a small tributary of the remote South Fork Clearwater, both truly wild and scenic rivers in Idaho. Both are famous gold mining areas near Elk City, Idaho. The Crooked River is being rehabilited for salmon spawning, these immense tailings being evidence to the necessity.
