Trail across the top of high cliffs begins in Montana de Oro State Park just south of Morro Bay and leads to Morro Spit, enclosing the estuary. Beyond the bay, Morro Strand State Beach and Estero Bluffs State Park mark the other side of the bay. Monana de Oro, a hiker's paradise is also popular with equestrians, kayakers, surfers, and campers.
